Undercarriages

Currently, thyssenkrupp manufactures undercarriages for the following machines: Mini-excavators (0.5 t to 6 t), excavators and bulldozers (7 t to 50 t), and earthmovers used in mining (50 t to a current weight of 300 t). We produce all of the undercarriage parts in accordance with the DIN EN 9001 quality management standard and the ISO 14001 environmental management standard. Nearly every leading construction machinery manufacturer in the world relies on our production quality standards.

Track chains

No matter what size they are or in which vehicle they are used – heavy-duty chains, sealed chains, greased chains and oil-lubricated chains have to be especially robust, durable and easy to maintain because they are most often used where the ground is uneven, rocky and loose. For this reason, thyssenkrupp places great emphasis on quality in the production of its track chains.

All of our chains are specially developed for the increased durability of pins and bushings.

There is also a version of the heavy-duty chains with extremely wear-resistant bushings for maximum service life in applications with intense abrasion.

Rollers

Rollers by thyssenkrupp are designed and manufactured for long service life, which results in low hourly operating costs. Through-hardened or surface hardened roll bodies increase wear resistance and ensure high structural strength and resistance to deformation. The seals guarantee permanent lubrication for optimum durability.

Idlers

We also place a high emphasis on wear resistance for idlers. No matter if they are cast, forged or welded – thyssenkrupp idlers offer improved structural strength and optimum tracking. Our “lifetime” seals ensure permanent lubrication, thus reducing maintenance and operating costs.

Drive sprockets

Every year we produce over 140,000 drive sprockets and segment groups with a total weight of over 10,000 tons. Both cast and drop-forged sprockets are induction hardened over the full tooth profile. Then they are machined on vertical lathes and drilled in special machining centers. All of this is done to extend service life and keep maintenance effort and expense low.

Track shoes

Extreme applications, as in the mining industry for example, require specially forged track shoes. They need high bending strength and breaking strength and maximum wear resistance and toughness to guarantee long service life. For this reason, track shoes by thyssenkrupp are through-hardened and stress-free annealed.

We offer track shoes for bulldozers with chain pitches up to 317.5 mm and track shoes for large excavators with chain pitches up to 350 mm.

Undercarriage systems

In addition to the production of individual undercarriage components, we offer our customers completely assembled, ready-to-install undercarriage systems for all tracked construction machinery. The product spectrum extends from the smallest track units for mini-excavators to undercarriages for rock drilling machines and bucket excavators. For special applications, together with our customers we develop solutions that are optimized and tailor-made for their respective needs.
