rothe erde® Rings

Rings are important components in a great many machines and machine parts. They are used in large-diameter bearings, high-power gears, large valves, production plants, gear rings, wind power plants and pipe construction. We supply seamless rolled rings in a diameter range of up to 8 meters.

thyssenkrupp rothe erde supplies not only rings that have undergone primary rolling (“as rolled”), but also offers all types of machine cutting processes by request.

We manufacture rings in the following versions and qualities:

  • Mild steels, quenched and tempered steels
  • High-alloyed steels
  • Made of non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, titanium)
  • Made of nickel-based alloys
  • Rectangular and profiled
  • Heat-treated: annealed, normalized, quenched and tempered

Unprocessed rings

Rings that have undergone only primary rolling (“as rolled”) are available from thyssenkrupp.

Characteristics:

  • Heat-treated
  • Tested

Processed rings

By request, thyssenkrupp offers all types of machine cutting processes performed in our efficient facilities.

Characteristics:

  • Turning, drilling, cutting gear teeth (internal with straight teeth, external with straight/angled teeth)
  • Inductive hardening of tooth flanks or roots

Structural elements

For aviation and aerospace applications we produce structural elements with extremely complex requirements and in particularly light versions as well.

Characteristics:

  • Extremely complicated cross-sections
  • Diameter range up to 5.5 meters
  • Low weights from 23 to 57 kg
  • All special alloys (titanium, copper, aluminum)
